Why families choose Pankaj Bhatia for Super Visa insurance: what he does before, during and after you buy
The premium is the same as buying direct. The difference is someone who reads the medical questions with you and picks up the phone when there is a claim.
Pankaj Bhatia, CHS, PFA, has spent 11 years in financial services and runs Insure In Canada Inc., with offices in Mississauga and Cambridge, Ontario. His work centres on Super Visa and visitors insurance, where the right plan for an older parent with a medical history matters as much as the price.
In short
Pankaj compares Super Visa plans from several Canadian insurers for each parent's age and health, goes through the medical questions with you before you buy, and helps with date changes, refunds and claims afterwards. There is no fee for his advice: the insurer pays the commission, so the premium is the same as buying direct. He is licensed in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and works by phone, WhatsApp and email.
What Pankaj does for a Super Visa family
Price matters, and he will show you the lowest one. He also checks whether that plan would pay for your parent's care.
Compares insurers, not one plan
Plans from insurers such as Secure Travel (RIMI), TuGo, Manulife, Allianz, GMS, Destination: Canada, TruStone, JF, Travelance, 2 Visit Canada and MSH Discover Canada appear side by side in one quote.
Reads the medical questions with you
He goes through each insurer's questions line by line, with your parent's prescription history open, and works out the date of the last change.
Matches the stability period
If the last medicine change was four months ago, a plan that needs 180 days won't cover that condition. He looks for a plan that will.
Explains the deductible and payment
Per claim or per policy, monthly or in full, and what each costs in a bad year, before you choose.
Checks the documents
Before you upload to IRCC: the insurer named, $100,000 per person, one year from arrival, names spelled as in the passport.
Stays on the file
Date changes, refunds after a refused visa or an early return, yearly renewals and claim forms go through him.
How a Super Visa file works with Pankaj
You can stop at any step and buy on your own; there is no obligation.
| Step | What you do | What Pankaj does |
|---|---|---|
| 1. First call or WhatsApp | Parents' dates of birth, arrival date, any medical conditions and medicines | Asks about the last change in each condition, explains which plans fit |
| 2. Quote | Look at live prices in the form above | Narrows the list to plans that would cover your parent, and explains the price gaps |
| 3. Application | Answer the medical questions on the insurer's page and pay | Goes through the questions with you; you pay the insurer directly |
| 4. Visa file | Upload the policy confirmation and proof of payment | Checks the documents against IRCC's rules |
| 5. During the stay | Call the insurer's assistance line in an emergency | Helps with claim forms and follow-up, renewals and early-return refunds |
Why the medical questions get the most time
Many Super Visa claim problems start with the application, not the hospital. A parent on blood-pressure pills whose dose went up three months ago is "unstable" under many plans. If the family ticks "no changes", the policy is sold, but a related claim can be refused later.
Pankaj asks for the pharmacy printout or the doctor's notes before you apply, counts the days since the last change, and compares that with each insurer's stability period, which usually runs from 90 days for younger parents to 180 days from age 70. Then he shows you the plans that fit. For specific conditions, see heart conditions, diabetes and pre-existing conditions.
Claims and refunds: help after you buy
In an emergency, your parent calls 911 or the insurer's 24-hour assistance line first. The insurer decides claims, not the advisor. Pankaj helps you fill in the claim forms, gather receipts and medical records, and follow up when a claim stalls. The steps are on the Super Visa claim process page.
If the visa is refused, he sends the refusal letter to the insurer with you before the policy starts, so the premium can be refunded under that insurer's rules.
If your parent goes home early, he requests the cancellation with proof of the return date. Unused months may be refunded if there was no claim. See Super Visa insurance refunds.
If travel dates move, he asks the insurer to change the start date before the policy begins.
