Who is eligible?

Pre-existing conditions and medical history

  • Under Allianz Visitors to Canada, applicants age 59 or younger generally require 90 days of stability.
  • Applicants age 60–89 generally require 180 days of stability.
  • Super Visa Essentials applies its stated pre-existing-condition exclusion.
  • A health change between application and the effective date must be reported.
Medical-history reminder: A new symptom, diagnosis, medication change, treatment change, hospitalization, referral or pending investigation can affect eligibility or stability.

Which Allianz product may cover stable conditions?

The Allianz Visitors to Canada product may cover eligible stable conditions based on age. Super Visa Essentials applies its own pre-existing-condition exclusion.

Waiting period and stability guidance

  • A 48-hour sickness waiting period may apply when purchased after leaving the country of origin.
  • The same waiting period can apply after an existing Allianz policy expires.
  • A sickness manifesting during the waiting period remains excluded.
  • The waiting period may be waived in qualifying continuous-coverage circumstances.

Claims and emergency assistance

  • Contact Allianz Global Assistance before treatment whenever possible.
  • In a serious emergency, attend hospital and have someone call within 24 hours.
  • Submit the claim form, original bills, receipts and medical records.
  • Provide proof within the policy deadlines.
Important: Incomplete information or failure to obtain required approval can delay or reduce a claim.

Refunds and administration fees

  • A full refund may be available within 10 days of purchase when travel has not begun and no claim exists.
  • A partial refund may be considered after early return or government-plan eligibility.
  • A completed refund request form, policy confirmation and supporting proof are required.
  • No refund is available after a claim has been made.
  • A refund fee and minimum-premium requirement may apply.
